Last Monday was my birthday and we have been celebrating all week long! I have gained 5 pounds and have had a great time eating a lot of whatever I wanted. But let's face it, it was the dark chocolate Costco cake that weighs about 10 pounds that I ate plenty of! Once a year on my birthday, I think is ok. But every day during the week seems like a bit over the top, don't you think? haha! Next year I will have to limit it to one day!
I seriously need to lose 40 pounds by Christmas. Once I get to that point, I will probably want to lose 20 more, but no need to worry about that now.
Since turning really old on my birthday, I know that my metabolism is very very slow. Slow as molasses, in fact. If I eat over 1300 calories a day, I will actually gain weight! Plus I have hypothyroidism which should be under control now with meds. Hey, if you are overweight and you have never had your thyroid tested, you really should do that! Having extra weight is not the only problem with hypothyroidism, and you could feel a lot better if you get on meds if you need them.
SO. Today I finished off all I wanted of the chocolate cake and tossed the rest. Because tomorrow I start my quest to lose 40 pounds by Christmas. If you want to join me, let me know! Each day I will blog how I am doing it!
Yeah! Go Susan! You can do anything you put your mind to, especially with the Lord's help. Even something like losing a few pounds, if it's important to you, it's important to the Lord. He can help you accomplish anything!
ReplyDeleteI'm not much of a cook, but I know Mike and Jodi make some fabulous (healthy) meals, you should really ask them for some recipes. If I come to know of any, I'll let you know.
I'm excited to read and follow your blog! Aren't blogs fun?
Love,
Lyssa
Lyssa!
ReplyDeleteThank you very much for your support! It's funny, you are the farthest away (Shanghai) and you are so far being the most supportive! ;D
A half a day into this and so far it's just ok. I need to fine tune my plan. Well, ok. I need to make a plan! haha!
Blogs are fun! I love reading yours!
Love,
Susan
Susan, you are an inspiration, so much so, that I think I am going to join you! 40 lbs by Christmas...hmmmm that is roughly .41 lbs per day or another way to look at it is 1 lb every 2.4 days, roughly 3 lbs. per week. That is totally doable! At first I thought no way, but with some focus and lots of effort we can do it! Let me know your plan. Sandy
ReplyDeleteAwesome, Sandy, let's do it! I know you like to exercise, so keep those work out clothes ready! For the first couple of days here, I am just easing into things. . . . so plan on hitting it hard on Sept 24th. That will give us a full 3 months until Christmas! I'll write a plan tomorrow here on the blog. We can do this!
ReplyDeleteOk Susan, here I go.....I am on board to be a part of your quest!! I boiled a bunch of eggs for breakfast this week and will try to cut back on the treats, which I seem to be loving just a little to much lately. If there is anyone on the planet who can accomplish this goal, it is the folks participating on this blog!! Thanks for starting this my friend Susan. Love, Debbie
ReplyDeleteDebbie!
ReplyDeleteAwesome! Thanks for jumping in!
Something funny, as soon as I read that you have been loving treats a little too much, I thought about chocolate! haha! Wonder why! ;D
Let's see how we do with this! I'm already down some and I'll put it on here only weekly.
Love you! Don't forget to exercise! (What? Is that whining I hear? haha! Don't make me send Korbin over there to get you running! haha!)
